The Sporadic Camera

CATS!

A reminder of New Orleans.

My office.  A strange and barely productive place, but it’s home.

Decoration.

Plant/paint.

{August 31, 2010}   I.

Some small friends and a favorite hat.

Dresses!

The gold table and a hint of Paris.

From the shrine.

And a diorama I made today, called “Witchy.”

{April 18, 2010}   Saturday!

The photography bug caught me big-time today, starting with the beautiful trees visible from our living room window:

At a yard sale today, I found a super-sweet electric Smith Corona, with white-out capabilities.  It’s my new favorite toy.

I felt that pictures must be taken of the work done today at Hoard Antiques , which included framing some never-before-used pharmacy labels from the 1940′s

and making a rack for the earrings out of a picture frame and some wire.

Also, regarding antiques……..I am still not sure where Mark got this, but it is damn worth sharing with the world.  This record – a remix album of The Wizard of Oz – contains some of the craziest sounds ever heard or created by humans.  Luckily, the cover is almost just as insane.

Front cover detail:

And the back cover, in which Glinda is most likely on shrooms and the outfits are really quite slutty for the Emerald City:

Wow.

Last but not least, is the pretty boxes I picked up at the thrift store for ninety cents each,

and a pretty Lily in the window.

{April 15, 2010}   Kitty party.

{April 13, 2010}   Monday, April 12, 2010.

Mercury in Retrograde began today, so why not start a photo-blog?  It sure as hell won’t be a Daily, because nobody’s got that kind of time, and really, who the hell would care about my picture postings every damn day?  Over time, I wouldn’t.  So let’s take it as it comes.  Today was a trip to the Field Museum, where it turns out the exhibit I had missed most of all, was the Gift Shop.  So many cool Egyptian things.  On top of various scarabs and stones and such things, I got some very pretty things, the first being these two small but absolutely beautiful papyrus…es?  Papyri?  Meh.

Along with those, I got a beautiful scarab jewelry box, which I figure will work well as a keeper of trinkets on the Isis shrine.

Upon returning home and working on packing for the move, I found my Beatles lunch box…

and discovered that my super-sweet pink tool kit fits perfectly inside.

Life is just cool like that sometimes.  :-)
